Becoming Happier With Yourself - The Journey

Once you take a hard look at what you are going through it will be clear to you. For example:

  • An unfulfilling job
  • Loss of a loved one
  • An unfulfilling relationship
  • Sickness
  • Financial difficulties
  • Difficulty living with a disability or illness

You may have noticed that most of your problems are related to you and what you do. If they were your fault you would have worked harder to fix them.

This is because most people are too easily manipulated by things they see around them.

If their boss said to do something they wouldn’t listen to him. It is the same for those around you.

This is a trap. You are a victim of the world.

The world is as crazy as it has always been, you just have access to information that wasn’t available to people before.

Look at life in the past, it was much simpler, you could live your life the way you wanted to and find happiness.

You can change this world but you must change yourself first. It’s quite easy to turn this into an argument that if you had it your way you wouldn’t need to worry about anyone else.

However, the truth is that you do have to worry about others. The fact is we have to live in the world we live in and unfortunately, this world does not care about us.

That’s the whole point of creating your own world, if you would not care about someone else then they should not care about you.

Therefore, if you want to feel happy and content with yourself, you must create your own world that does care about you and allows you to feel happy and content with yourself.

It is not always easy, but it is a worthwhile journey.

Having no goals

You don’t know what you want to do in life. You are content with your life, but your life is not exactly what you want it to be.

What would it be like to be one of the really successful people you have seen on TV? Do you have an idea of what it is you want in life?

Do you want to be happy? If you do, then stop feeling sorry for yourself.

Become passionate about what it is that you want.

Do you want to be successful? Why? What does success mean to you?

Why are you so passionate about it? Think about this for a moment.

Having no purpose in life

You just live day to day, never knowing what it is that you are supposed to be doing.

To fix this, become passionate about something that you have always wanted to do.

This could be anything. It could be anything that you can think of. It could be photography.

It could be playing the piano. It could be writing a novel. It could be anything.

What do you love to do that you want to do? What are the 3 things that you have never been able to get enough of?

What makes you happy and why do you want to do it? Write them down.

No sense of urgency or direction in life

You just waste your life on just living, not doing anything meaningful to help yourself or others.

Now, do you understand what this problem is? You have no sense of urgency or direction in your life.

You know that you should be doing something, but you just don’t have the motivation or inspiration to do it.

What is it that you don’t have? How do you get that?

Not living up to your potential

There is nothing you can do to improve yourself if you don’t know what your potential is.

Let’s make this a little more tangible, when you look in the mirror and look at your appearance, what are the 3 things that stand out about you?

What are your greatest assets and what do you need to change to become more attractive to the opposite sex?

There are a few other things that you need to think about. To bring it back to list-making.

Have you ever written a list about yourself and you wrote things like your hair, skin, eyes, etc…

We need to change that. We need to look at ourselves and what we need to improve. Think about it like this.

If your dream is to be a millionaire, who are you trying to be? Have you thought about who you want to become?

What attributes would you want to have? Why do you want to become that way?

Write them down, and learn how to become that person.

With that, I have a little more to add to what I said above. The thing about life is that it goes on.

All of us have plans and ideas of what we want to do in life. The problem is that we aren’t passionate about them.
