Finding your passion is not an easy thing to do. It can seem like there’s never enough time in the world to learn everything about something you love doing, but you have to if you want to feel happy and successful.
It takes a while to find what makes you feel passionate, maybe years for it to occur, so don’t give up!
You deserve to feel good about yourself and know that you are capable of feeling happier than you were before this morning. You are worth investing in and staying invested in yourself.
There’s no one way to identify your passion, but here are some tips to help you along the way. This article will go into detail about some types of passions, how to determine them, and some ways to get through the difficult stages when you wonder whether they exist or not.
Good luck out there kid. We’ve got your back.
Read constantly
If you want to know what your passion is, then you have to be willing to do it for very long. You cannot fake this or short-change yourself by putting in minimal effort.
You have to really invest time into things that make you interested. This could be reading an interesting book, listening to an interesting song, watching a movie that has lots of action, studying something that touches you, etc.
It doesn’t matter how much money you spend on these activities, as long as they bring you pure joy!
Many people don’t realize it, but when they were younger they spent their lives chasing after more money. Money was the goal, not happiness.
As we get older, however, we tend to focus less on making money and more on living a happy life.
So, if you are ever trying to figure out what you should do with your life, look at all the different areas of your life and ask yourself whether you are spending enough time working on those projects that make you feel happy.
If you can’t find too many minutes during the day, maybe looking into some hobbies or studies that take up some time after work is worth considering.
Develop a good personal reading list
A personal reading list is an excellent way to know how to read for passion. You can use your books as a springboard to explore other genres, studies you will learn about, or just plain fun reads!
There are many ways to develop a reading collection. You do not have to be rich to start investing in great literature. Many large bookstores offer frequent discount events that include hard-to-find books.
These books may be out of print, which also makes them more affordable. By buying these used books, you help the writer finance their next project!
You can also visit your local library, they almost always keep a small selection of new books and those are often available for checkout. Some libraries even organize monthly board game nights so you can check out a new genre by learning a little bit about it.
I’m sure you have friends who enjoy different types of writing, so ask them if there is anything they want to read. If they tell you it is too tough or complicated, then suggest some of their favorite novels or stories to get them started.
Always have a book on hand
Even if you don’t feel like reading, pick up a new book!
There is no reason why you can’t be inspired by what you read. A good number of people find inspiration in fiction, so try reading some novels.
You could also go through different self-help books to see how others deal with difficult situations in their lives. Or maybe you’d get ideas from studying psychology or sociology.
Become an expert reader
Let’s look at some examples!
I will use three short stories as my materials, all of which are available free online or through your library. Check out these tales, know what parts I like about them, and then apply that knowledge to read your own material.
First, let’s read an article titled “The Best Way To Read A Book Is By Listening To It.”
Second, here is an excerpt from Terry Bisson's comic novel The Boxer And The Ballplayer.
And finally, here is an extended passage from Paul Austen's classic Pride And Prejudice.
Now, compare those five pages to see how different authors write their stories. You'll notice that there are things they do in each one, and you can learn to be more like that by practicing, practice, practicing!
Reading is a skill, just like any other, and if you want to improve yours, you have to work at it.
Practice writing with your notes
Even if you have no idea what you want to do, it is still important to know about yourself. What things you are passionate about — these are your passions.
Your passion can be anything from singing to drawing to baking. It does not need to be career-oriented, but it should be something that you feel a strong desire to do.
Practice making comments on those subjects. If you like watching movies, try talking about them or reading an article about how to make your own movie. If you love to read, take some time to look through books or magazines and see all of the interesting content.
This will help you learn more about yourself and inspire you to pursue other hobbies and interests.
Connect with other readers
A passion writer is someone who loves writing so much that they will do it anywhere and for any reason. They love reading books and getting into new genres to find more of what they like.
They can’t wait to write their next book! And when you are spending lots of time in front of a computer screen, there is always something else you could be doing instead.
Reading is a great way to connect with your inner-passionate self and also to meet others who share your passion.
There are many ways to connect with passionate writers online. You can create an account on some type of blogging platform, such as Blogger or WordPress, then start posting about things you have been learning as a writer and chat with people about similar topics.
On social media sites like Facebook and Twitter, begin sharing stories and pictures of yourself practicing your craft and talking about how you enjoy studying literature. Your friends and followers will surely appreciate you and help you grow your passion.
You can even take this one step further and make it interactive by asking your audience questions or offering giveaways related to writing.
Get an academic reading account
A professional academic reader is someone who gets paid to read books and documents and give their opinion of how well they are written. They typically get paid per word, so the longer you ask them to take to review your book, the more money you pay!
Academic readers are not professionals who have made it in academia, but rather outside academics that have mastered writing. Some examples of academic readers include:
* Your college or university may have an academic reading service provider such as ReadBiz. This can be free if you are a student, or expensive otherwise.
* The League of Professional Academic Readers offers certification as an expert reader. You must pass their tests to become a certified academic reader.
These days, there are even online reading services where you can hire a reader for just one document or article. These are mostly free to use, but some will offer basic features like limited revisions for a fee.
There are many ways to find an academic reading service provider. Most universities and colleges list at least one on their website, under resources or something similar. Professors and teachers usually have one too, as they need one to verify students’ work. Students can also look through their Facebook pages, Twitter accounts, and YouTube videos for recommendations.
Finding a good reader can sometimes be hard, which is why we have put together this guide with all the information you need to know about getting academic readings.
Take tests and get grades
While it’s great to have an understanding of your passion, what I can’t stress enough is that you need to go into this with a plan. You want to make sure that when you take a test or exam, you are very prepared.
You don’t just show up at the test and expect to do well. That won’t work!
And even if it did, why would anyone else in the world feel comfortable taking such a test? If people could learn about their passions by just reading them, we’d all be millionaires by now.
Test yourself out – try studying something you’re passionate about and see how you fare. Or maybe you’ll find that you’re not too passionate about things after all. Either way, you’ll know more than before.
I hope these tips help you discover what makes you happy and allow you to pursue your dreams, no matter what they may be.
