Team-building exercises that focus more on giving people false feelings of self-confidence are actually damaging to relationships. This is why most leadership theories emphasize creating teams where individuals believe they can succeed without help from others, even if it means going beyond what is easy to do so.
It may be difficult at first, but true teamwork takes work and effort. It doesn’t happen automatically because someone else does something nice for you once every few days.
If you want to see real teamwork, then you need to put in some time to develop it, which is why a lot of companies organize retreats, or events that include working on projects together. Sometimes these get canceled due to things like timing or money, but that shouldn’t stop you from trying to create strong bonds of trust between yourself and your coworkers.
