As we know, Oprah is one of the most famous people in America. Her talk show has spanned over 20 years and she has made significant contributions to our culture by promoting social justice, encouraging self-care, and empowering others through her messages. She also built an empire off of selling (and giving away) more products than anyone else!

But aside from all that, what makes Oprah so special is not just her content, it’s her passion for everything she puts out there.

She doesn’t do this because she needs to prove something or make money, but because she truly cares about inspiring and helping other people.

Oprah always says that your life will reflect how much you loved yourself before someone else did. So if you don’t love yourself now, then go ahead and take care of yourself — but only after you have given yourself the same credit and appreciation as everyone else does.

Became a billionaire

After leaving college, television host Oprah Winfrey made her way to Chicago to pursue a career in entertainment. She had no formal training as a TV showrunner or producer, but she was determined to make it big.

In 1988, just one year after launching The Oprah Winfrey Show, she opened up for an interview with Merv Adler, publisher of Success Magazine. During this conversation, he asked if there were any dreams that she never pursued because she didn’t think she was smart enough.

She thought about it for a minute before responding, “I always wanted to be rich.”

It took her several years to fully realize what being wealthy really meant, but once she did, she set out to achieve that goal. And she achieved it!

Oprah has spent most of her life working hard and investing in herself. But she also spends a lot of time giving back through philanthropy and inspiring others to do the same.

Launched a TV network

After leaving her job as a radio talk show host in Chicago, Oprah launched The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1985. It was an immediate success, with over 100 million viewers across its 23-year run!

The show focused heavily on entertaining and educating its audience. Each episode would feature at least one special guest, such as a famous actor or singer, a discussion topic, or some kind of educational lesson.

Along with promoting and helping others, Oprah also made significant contributions to society by giving away money and supporting worthy causes. These efforts have included supporting literacy initiatives, fighting AIDS, and saving lives through cancer screenings.

Oprah is well known for being passionate about almost everything she does. This passion is what has helped make her successful throughout her career so far.

Went on a worldwide book tour

After establishing herself as one of TV’s biggest stars, she made her foray into film with the 2003 romantic comedy The Ref.

Although it wasn’t widely loved by critics or fans, many consider it to be one of Oprah’s best films due to its intimacy and charm.

She plays Renee Richardson, an over-the-top character who works in a restaurant that specializes in chicken wings. When the boss asks for some help finding his missing son, she agrees to take his place while he goes through crisis mode.

The movie is very much about how people influence each other and win or lose based on their actions, but there are also several references to books. These include Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad Poor Dad (which features a chapter titled “Reading Is Powerful”) and Tony Robbins’ Power Talk.

Oprah makes reading a key part of Renee’s life preparation and it helps her understand the effects of different behaviors on others.

Became a humanitarian

After leaving her home in South Africa, she made her way to America where she would meet another person with passion for helping others. She started hosting talk shows which allowed her to share her knowledge and experiences with the world.

In addition to sharing personal stories and offering life lessons, Oprah gave opportunities to underprivileged people by having them as guests on one of her show. These people received education or training that helped launch their careers, or at least changed their lives forever.

Oprah has always been known for being passionate about something. Whether it’s fashion, food, or philanthropy, she never stops exploring new things.

She is also very well-known for encouraging other people to be passionate about what they want to do and pursue it with all of your heart.

Helped find and return a girl’s stolen purse

In 2007, while filming an episode for her show The Life of Riches, Oprah met a young woman who shared a heart-breaking story with her. A friend had invited this teen to come over to watch movies and have snacks, but when she got there, they were gone — along with her friend’s red leather wallet that contained around $1,000 in cash and credit cards!

The two teens confessed their deception, so Oprah contacted authorities to see if they could help identify or locate the thief. With some assistance from the community, it just took one week before someone recognized the wallet as belonging to the missing person.

After learning about the robbery, the owner of the wallet called the police herself, hoping that somehow her information would aid them in finding her money. She was right! Within 24 hours, officers returned her phone and wallet and she received all of her belongings back with no explanation.

It is important to note that even though the individual who found the wallet did not contribute anything to its recovery, they still receive recognition for helping bring back what you lost. This inspires other individuals to assist others by looking out for each other and promoting kindness.

Became a mother

After giving birth to her first child, a daughter she named Troy in 1977, Oprah spent several years as a stay-at-home mom. She didn’t work outside of the home until she was 30 years old when she took a position at WABC radio in New York City.

It wasn’t long before she made waves by offering her listeners advice about love and life. In fact, it wouldn’t be too much of an exaggeration to say that Oprah shaped the way many people think today.

She once said, “I have always felt there were two types of people in this world: givers and takers. I am mostly a giver, but sometimes you get stuck with a rotten person who takes without asking.”

That philosophy can be applied to almost anything — from friendship all the way up through business and self-development. It doesn’t matter what area of your life you are investing energy into, if you encounter someone who is only going to take for granted how hard they worked or how good they feel because of something you gave them, chances are they won’t keep taking and keeping.

Oprah learned this lesson early on when she would give away clothes to needy kids and then watch as they went out and bought new shoes using the money she paid for their last shirt.

Started a production company

In 1989, media mogul Oprah Winfrey founded her own production company, Harpo Productions. Since then, she has produced and aired more than 200 television shows that have garnered ten of the channel’s 23 Emmy Awards.

Many people know Oprah for her talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show, which ran from 1986 to 2011. But she is much more than just a TV personality. She is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and champion for social justice.

Oprah launched her successful media business by producing programs about various topics such as health, money, relationships, and spirituality.

Launched a brand new show

In 2011, television legend Oprah Winfrey announced she was launching her own network! Her talk show would be the backbone of this new channel. She is still hosting The Oprah Show to this day, but her new network is officially named OWN (Oprah’s Own Network).

Many people have mentioned how influential Oprah has been in our lives. She made talking about difficult things easy for most of us. Even if you don’t watch her show, you probably know some person who does.

By creating her own network, Oprah proved that anyone can create their own platform and connect with others around the world.

She also inspired other powerful women to take control of their lives and go after what they want. Many people now refer to this as “Oprah style leadership.
